"Hot Llama"
The heat was unbeknownst to the fish and penguins and we appreciated their climate-controlled habitats. Natalie was especially enthralled by the penguins. She climbed up to peek at them and watched them with wonder for a good 10 minutes. She was also a big fan of the new shark pool. Unfortunately, she was determined to climb over the short wall and get IN the pool with them. She threw a small fit when we had to swiftly exit this attraction and move on. Gavin was a trooper, and although he didn't want to leave before "petting" a shark, even he understood that it wouldn't be wise to let his sister swim with the sharks.
Here's Mr. Cool himself

I've been to the zoo a thousand times and have yet to see the polar bear do much other than laze on a rock and sleep. Today, even the polar bear knew he'd fry if he stayed out in the sun. I caught a short video of him swimming laps in his pool. Gavin and Natalie loved this! If you listen carefully, you can hear Natalie cry when the polar bear swims away and then yell "Eeeeee! EEEEE!" when he swims back again.
