The boys (and Natalie) really spoiled me this year! Chet surprised me by taking a vacation day from work and staying home. We haven't had a day together as a family in ages and it was probably the best gift anyone could have given me. My dad called in the morning and sang "Happy Birthday" from his office. Gavin picked some tulips for me from our yard and helped Daddy bake and decorate the birthday cake. He was very strict about the "no peeking" rule while they toiled in the kitchen. When evening rolled around, there was another surprise waiting for me...a babysitter!!! Chet had made reservations at a great Italian restaurant and we had our first "date" in months.
The next day, my parents joined us for cake and a few presents. This one will undoubtedly go down in birthday history as one of my best. Thanks guys...I couldn't have been blessed with a sweeter family.
